Re: TP downloads entire Yahoo Mail account instead of only the past 7 days
Ditto. I have been having the same issue last few weeks. I would typically go to menu and click on STOP Send / Recieve and on the next sync it corrects itself. No idea why it started doing that either..

once you get 2000+ messages on your phone it really kills the performance. manila doesn't even load for me. you have to do all this trickery to delete the yahoo account, and the delete process takes about 20 minutes.

I loaded Seven on the phone and will see if this helps the situation at all. So far so good. Will know for sure in a week or so.

Re: TP downloads entire Yahoo Mail account instead of only the past 7 days
OK. A little clarity. I went through 3 Sprint TPs and all of them did the same thing. The first two were different OS software than the last which was evident by a few features like slide to answer/end and modified menus on the contacts list.
Sprint ended up sending me a TP2 because of it. Super awesome Tech btw. She called me back multiple times to let me know where the phone was in transit and also to help me activate the phone. One thing that I noticed is that the problem seems to present itself more often if you set the ping frequency to a short time. For instance, on the last TP, I had 2 yahoo email accounts one set to update every 15 minutes, the other set to update every 2 hours. The 15 min account went bonkers within a few hours. The 2 hour account was fine. I also couldn't clear the account directory or delete the account because the phone won't let you do either while it's syncing and even multiple attempts to "stop send/receive" wouldn't work. I finally ended the email account in the task manager then quickly cleared the account which takes upwards of 10 mins to do. VERY annoying. Since I didn't have this problem during the 1st 6 months of owning the phone, I'm wondering if Yahoo made a change to it's servers or if there was a WinMo update that may have caused the problem. So far, I'm loving the TP2. I just can't figure out why they ditched the LED flash. |
