Problems with TP locking up HELP

I am having an issue when Im on a call and another call comes in the answer button wont work an the call keeps coming in over and over I will end up with 20 missed calls in amatter of seconds. Sprint says just take the batt out and back in but this doesn't seem like a reasonable fix. Is this a malfuntioned phone does anyone out there know I want sprint to fix it but they act like its no big deal and I am the only one with a problem. Any suggestions?

have you done a hard reset? have you removed the battery for a few minutes?
