programing is the same for all windows phones..heck, most phones for that matter. It's easy to manually program your phone, but looks like it did an over the air for you. And, yes, you are now posting in the wrong forum, lol..

UPDATE.. i went to a repair center today and spoke with a rep about the tp2 being a replacement to my tp. he never heard of it but he pulled up my account to see, he told me i was red flagged for having too many replacements in a short period of time but that yes the tp2 was an option for me , as well as blackberry , snap etc.. which were cheaper. he asked me if i wanted the tp2 and of course my answer was yes but when he tried to place the order the system said they were not in stock and it didnt even let him submit the order anyway..so i guess i got to wait til some become available...but yes they are being replaced..seen it in the system personally..good luck to those that can get one..

I am thinking about an sprint android device. I haven't kept up with the reviews and what not. The hero has no keyboard and the moment has one. Any thoughts on these phones or where to find honest reviews (not websites kissing butt)?

Has anyone had any luck in getting a used touch pro replaced for free *for another tp or tp2?*

Was running my touch pro for a week and now the touch screen isnt working out of no where , was just sitting on my desk ;\


I really dont want to pay the $100 deductible.

I'll be going to a sprint store tomorrow and see what they say either way

You should have no problem getting another TP1 for free. That is as long as you have insurance on the phone. Otherwise it will cost some money.

Yea I have insurance , I suppose i should mention the phone looks fine *chrome is 100% fine ect.ect.* except the battery cover has a crack. Think they will blame that for it not working and refuse to replace it?

i honestly dont know which i would would choose.i kinda liked the moment because of the keyboard.if i knew they would get an update to android 2.0(or whatever they call it)i think i would choose it.my wife gets an upgrade in dec and its a tossup between it and a palm pre.i am kinda thinking because of size and she doesnt do much extra besides talk and text that the pre will be her answer.

Well went to sprint store today , they ordered a replacement TP for mine but there going to make me keep the back cover because mine has a crack in it :P

I've traded about 20 Touch Pro's in the past 2 months. I'm going to keep doing it too till I get a TP2. Doesn't bother me.

Does not bother me either..Like a new phone every few weeks. While I wouldn't turn down a TP2 I really don't see what all the fuss is about. Bigger screen, big whoop..lol. Not all Touch Pro's overheat as I have one right now that works fine.

im alltel but i guess verizon now. I got my TP2 just a few hours ago. They replaced my Alltel TP for it. It truely is alot nicer. I was like you guys but once you have it on your hands...wow!! BTW VZW TS told me they dont have many alltel tps so instead of makin people wait they offerin the next comparable device.

I went into the store today, this will be my 3rd TP in a matter of 5 months. Anyways the guy tried to tell me Sprint is getting rid of the TP and TP2 because they have too many problem with them. He offers me a Blackberry Curve, Palm Pre, Treo 850 Pro, and HTC snap. Only phone i would even be willing to trade with is the BB Tour or the HTC Touch Pro 2. I am calling Sprint tomorrow to see what they have to say. Can anyone give a comparison with the Pre vs the Touch pro? They have fixed the battery issue with the Pre now.

I've also been told as well as others that SERO is not compatable with the TP2. That too isn't "quite correct..." but the reps continue to dish it out.

Anyone have the email address for the CEO of Sprint? I would like to send him a email. I think it is crazy that I have 3 Touch pros in 5 months. I paid $500 for my first one and it died within a month!! They give me a used one after i just paid $500 for a new one and it lasted a month ](*,).

This rep told me to call Asurion since i have insurance. If i call them what should i say? Will they be willing to issue me a TP2? I had my TP brand new and it died within a month and they gave me a used one.

Sprint is just trying to pawn you off..unless your phone is water damaged or you smashed it, don't call Asurion. It's up to Sprint to repair or replace it.

The golden river is not empty yet. A close friend got his tp2 ordered yesterday. Walked in with tp1, never been replaced since last year (2008) spoke to "his boy" and they ordered him a tp2. Its all about the rep guys. find a nice one, be paitient. Both me and him asked for the tp2 btw, but didn't make it sound like we were scamming, just frustrated with tp1 preformace and in my case, multiple trips to store. To his advantage is he is a customer of 10 years....

Well i finally got something done. The list of phones that are under warranty even under escalations is the Curve, Palm Pre, Treo Pro, HTC Snap. So I ahead and went with the Palm Pre. I will get myself a TP2 in a few months. But i took my claim all the way to escalations and they would not budge on the TP2 because they said it is not warrantied to be replaced for the TP. And if i wanted to get a TP2 i would have to buy the phone. I have been with sprint for a lot of years and i also upgrade 2 phones once a year. I cannot complain they did give me a replacement free, anything other then a broken TP! Good luck to anyone trying to get a TP2 :mrgreen:. I heard and read a lot of promising stuff about the WebOS.

I said nothing at all to them about the TP2, they did not even offer it as an option :cry:

My friend in Rochester, NY took his TP into the Sprint store there yesterday because it keeps rebooting itself every ten minutes. They tried to repair it and it was still doing it when he picked it up after work. They offered him a couple of choices and he asked them about a TP2, they told him they are no longer offering it because they have been getting to many defects on them. He ended up with a Blackberry that he's not real happy with so far. Odd that Sprint is still selling TP2's on their site.](*,)

Huh? Why not, it's their latest Winmo phone. The Touch Pro and Diamond are the devices that are discontinued.

Yes I had two repair techs from two different stores telling me that Sprint is going to do away with the TP line up because of all the problems. I do not know how true that is, but we will find out after the TP2 gets old!

conflikt: i don't know whether to feel bad for you or laugh at you. Why would you take a pre especially when people can and are still getting tp2's? I would be very upset if I paid $500 for a device and it broke within a month and got it replaced with a used phone that was junk. I would fight until I had it properly replaced.

The reason I say laugh is you say you've been with sprint for many years, upgrade twice a year but paid $500? Most pay 100-300. So something doesn't add up. Also sounds like you're too impatient. Read the tips everyone has and you'll get your phone.

I also figure this problem is the same deal when the TP came out and everyone was trying to replace the titan/mogul. Just give it time and you'll get your phone soon enough. I have 2 tp's and my second one is in mint condition. It doesn't get used much and has a seidio cover and clip so it's always well protected. Might be worth some $ some day being it's of a batch that doesn't have problems! Also my main tp has lasted this far without major issues (nothing that roms can't fix) and until the last 2-3 days has started to act squirrely. Sure it had some rough spots with the keyboard but nothing to make me want to go through the hassle of getting several phones to get upgraded.

Oh yeah and everyone should go to the BBB and complain since we've paid for high dollar phones and get crap replacements. It's just like buying a new car, then it F's up and is replaced with a used car of the same model. No one would allow this to go on because there are laws that protect us. So someone who has connections or know how should start a case to get people who have legitimate problems compensated.

No, i meant the phone is damn near $500 and died within a month. I got a brand new in the box Pre not a used one. I need a reliable phone that does not break all the time so as far as impatience goes yes i am impatient. I will get TP2 in a few months because i upgrade two phones once a year. I did a lot of research on the Pre and i feel that i did okay on the trade. Yeah ill lack on screen size and keyboard but whatever. I love win-mobile because of Power Point and Word but i am sure someone will add support for it to webOS. I am just happy they gave me a new phone, i am sick of my phone breaking all the time ](*,)

Just took my first Touch Pro into service the chip within the micro usb charge slot was broken. My experience with replacement phones is they can be bad (I used to own a Fusix had to replace 3 others until the upgraded me to the Musiq) Honestly, i'm hoping not to have to do this but I have no tolerance for compromise if my replacement has issues it's going back!

I was able to get a TP2 yesterday from the corporate repair store. I first went to an ASC which authorized the repair within 5 minutes, but told me that they didn't have any in stock and had no idea when it would arrive. Spoke to sprint on the phone, they couldn't do anything. Went to the repair store and showed them my notes from the call to sprint, and they also said it was out of stock, but would try to order it ASAP. The TP2 came in 3 days later. SO it's still doable, but you definitely have to find the store that's willing to at the very least authorize the replacement. Once you have that, you can argue your way for a TP2, even if it's not in stock at the time.
