got the call at 3pm my tp2 is waiting for me at sprint...will give an update on a refurb and such when i get back. flashing back to stock and relocking now =)

Took my brothers tp to get it replaced because the phone thinks there is a headset plugged in at all times and will not produce any sound in conversation. Take it to sprint, they take it apart to take a look at it, say it has corrosion on it and water damage. Even though both of the water indicator strips are still flawless. Red flagged the account so now it can only be replaced by insurance. Is this just a bunch of b.s.?
Also at the same time there was a lady in there with her son and he was on his 3rd tp in 3 days! She had paid full retail for it a couple months ago and wanted a phone that works! All they would keep offering her is a bb tour or palm treo pro. I told her about tp2 upgrade but she didn't really understand what i was telling her and her son was getting embarrased, they ended up sending her to the other side of town for them to deal with her. Why they didn't order her a new one I am not sure, but I will not be going there anymore to that repair center. But anybody have any thoughts on the b.s. condensation issue? Can they really void any warranties if the water strips haven't been tripped? |

I don't know how all of you are finding success with this. I tried e-chat, no luck, email, no luck.... then I called and talked with them forever. They offered me the Curve, the Tour, and the Treo Pro. I wouldn't mind the Tour except for a plan change. NO! I am sick of this friggin phone and just plan to sell it when I cave and can get an iPhone. My boyfriend has one and if we go to look something up he can do it in seconds and I'll be waiting. Look up a phone number and he will have it before my sprint nav is even logged in. I have full signal strength and 3G, the speed tests are fine, I don't get it. WTF? I am getting dropped calls all the time which NEVER happened with my 1st defective one and this is a recent issue resolved by resetting but it reoccurs. For a time I couldn't even make any calls without getting an invalid error on numbers I have called hundreds of times. The GPS chip is all effed up, cmon, I have had to make so many U turns it isn't even funny. Voice mail announcements, forget it. I pretty much never get them. I will wonder what is going on and check it to find I have 20 gdamn voicemails. They gave me a new one specifically over the phone when I did my last advanced exchange. I am sick and tired of this phone and Sprint. My plan rate won't change with me added to my boyfriends phone, I'll even save $5. I'm glad you have all had so much luck getting a comparable model but I am done.
No, it's not unlocked, it has the standard updated Sprint ROM. I have 2 apps installed, SPB mobile shell and SPB brain evolution. I don't think they have anything to do with this since I didn't have them until a few days ago.:disgust: by the way, I did explain to them that I couldn't make it to the store. I am disabled. They don't care. |

ON a WM device I get unlimited data, text, bla blah blah. so for me to get a tour I then have to double the cost of my plan so I can get the same services except on a BB. Seems pretty ignorant for someone in my position. If you are already on an Everything Plan then it is no big deal or a SERO plan that you can getthe BB added for no charge. |

After going to the store today they could NOT fix it with the new keyboard, tried to offer me a new touch pro and I refused, then brought up the memo once again. This time they recognized its legitimacy (what a surprise!) but then claimed that the TP 2 wasn't ever an option, at which point I knew they were trying to give me the work around. Tried all the other phones up there told them my individual problem (not paying for a tour plan though I would love it, treo pro isn't nearly the same, snap - touch screen, no one note, etc, curve -another bb), and so they basically told me I was just ****ed. Got MY touch pro back and am considering trying some other stores before trying to use some people I know to get this in the media. Sprint doing this has pissed me off since my Mogul and this time I'm not gonna bother wasting the amount of time it took me to get my Touch pro last time. I've already sent an email to some of the higher ups at Sprint I've had success speaking with, but after that I have already informed them I will be attempting to make this public and if possible could probably use some people's (like the previous posters) input if they have legitimate concerns.

GO PUBLIC, THIS WAY SPRINT WILL HAVE TO GIVE OUT TOUCH PRO 2 TO EVERY TOUCH PRO OWNER WHO NEEDS IT! thats what i say. haha
but listen to this. one store i went to (third party repair center) was the best luck i had. went in. the guy was very cool and i told him my problem with touch pro and before i said anything he said "hey man would u like the touch pro 2" and i said yes id love that. and he told me about how sprint is doing this because they have alot of defective touch pros. so i went there. he read me the list. i said TP2. he tryed to order. NO LUCK! OOS! said try back a diff day. now i been trying for 2 days. still OOS. so i thought id goto corporate store here cause i know someone who got theres from there. went in. told them. he said we might be able to do diffrent device but we have to check it first. came back hour later. the guy gave me the phone and said: "nothing is wrong with it, if it keeps giving u problems, come back" looked at the phone. same as i brought it in. info and everything still there. dont think they did anything! WTH! so ill just keep trying that store until they get them or they tell me its not an option. my phone keyboard is going out with a bunch of other stuff! I REALLLLLY HOPE THEY GET SOME IN!!! |

just an update..just got home from the sprint store in whitehall/allentown pa. on macarthur rd. after a girl named leslie left me a voicemail around 3pm that my tp2 came in. was in the store for about an hour with a lady it was the first one that was shipped to this store. hell she didnt even know how to turn it on. but all in all its a brand new tp2 with the accessories in the box.
i didnt know it was a global phone and either did they. Guess i didnt do enough homework on it. so all in all it was easy. went in sunday got the phone today. no bs about being out of stock or anything. just my story. thanks for everything with the tp1 everyone now off to the tp2 forum! |

this is a perfect sign of why some people are just A**Holes! because i went to the same store the person above me went to and they told me. no we cant do that and "looked" at the phone and said they fixed it which they didnt! WTH! why do they do this! and not to mention they were very rude! the phone still has probelms and they just wont order me the touch pro 2!!! i guess ill wait till the other place says there back in stock :( JUST REALLLY PISSED THAT they can say yes to one person and totally refuse it to another! WTH |

Ya I got my 1st touch pro through asurion when they sent me a mogul with a cracked screen as a replacement. Then i had another replaced by sprint because the screen died completely. This phone is doin the same thing already flashed back to stock rom and got first freeze today. So what should the plan of attack be to get the touch pro 2? 3rd party service center, sprint on the phone, or a company store?

im thinking about bringing my touch pro in to get diagnosed (which is what the sprint customer service tech on the phone said to do) and at the store, they will handle the rest of it. but before i do that, im wondering wat they will do to my touch pro. how will they diagnose it? will they check for reg edits?? how can i make my touch pro worse :mrgreen:? and where is the memo from the Howard Forums?? (the image was removed)
should i tell them about the WEL list if they do not offer me another model? Problems with my TP: 1)Heat 2)Battery life 3)Delayed Ring/Vibrate (called sometimes don't come through to me) 4)Dropped Calls 5)Texts recieved Late 6)phone is overall slow 7)keyboard responses slow I have Psyki rom on it currently. should i flash back to stock and Re-lock before i bring it in?? i really want the touch pro 2. this TP really has issuses.... |

I talked to a friend that is a sprint rep and he said that the WEL list is constantly changing by the hour. Im going to see if i can get my phone fixed tomorrow and see if they can replace it but if they cant then i am still fine with a tp as long as its fixed.

I wonder why so many different stories. This is something that Sprint even acknowledges and still their staff are making it difficult to follow their own rules. I had no issues switching mine (in store, on the phone was another story) and it was my first TP that was almost up on the one year warranty. Don't get it twisted I did have legit issues with mine and was looking to dump it anyway. I feel like i'm getting over somehow but all I did was follow Sprints policy....

I have a refurb Touch Pro (original one had a dead keyboard) that gets hot, has terrible battery life, and has a flakey keyboard...
So, I went to the Sprint Store tonight, brought the memo with me, showed it to the Manager, he read it, and noticed that the memo states: Quote:
He comes back, and says "Sorry sir, we could not duplicate the issues you reported". I was like, you've got to be kidding me, I've only been here for 1 hour, and the batter went from 100% to 70% in < 1 hour, without any background apps running, and data services being used, and you tell me you can't duplicate it? He said "sorry sir, we didn't see what percentage the battery was at, but our test indicated that the battery is in good working order" As for the heat issue, he ignored that altogether despite the phone being hot, and the unresponsive keyboard issue he said is something common due to heavy demands of some apps bogging the phone down. BS. It's uncommon for me to type something, then have it not appear on the screen, albeit intermittently (this is a symptom of my last TP keyboard right before it died as well). I tried, but they didn't comply. |

soooo it finally worked in my favor...i went in last week (screen and keyboard failed) and they ordered another tp1 i mentioned the memo and they all played dumb...
so yesterday i got my NIB TP1 (yippee skippee) and quickly flashed my psyki rom and went about my day kinda bummed... around 8 pm i had the thought Psyki rom rules i should just flash my shipped rom (which ALWAYS suck) and wait for the glitch to appear.... 2 minutes later i cant access www.ppcgeeks... i keep getting an opera9.exe error:headbang: so off to sprint i go again, the tech couldnt fix it so they were going to order me another tp1 ](*,) so then BLAMMO i whip out my memo and the kid (who never saw it) brings it to his manager who screams "who had this!!!." he also said its "not supposed to be proactive", funny ithought thats EXACTLY what the memo read...but he said since i saw and knew about it that he will call me as soon as its available(the tp2 that is).. YIPPEE... 6 TPs = 1 TP2=D> |
