I think I messed up.. (HTC Touch Pro)

I tried to update my touch pro yesterday with the rom I got from HTC's site. I tried to flash it from the SD. It got as far as the OS portion of the update and stopped with an update failure. The phone is not unlocked. I've tried to let it go through with the update many times with no success. It won't do anything else, at this point. Is there any way I can fix it? Is it possible to try flashing the original ROM back to it without unlocking it? I can't unlock it in this state, correct? Thanks!!
