Re: A solution to service in rural area?

Still using *228. Give the latest verizon radio a try. Two reasons. One, the latest Alltel radio did nothing for me. Second, the latest Alltel radio locks GPS. If the merger has not happened yet in your area, radio may not do much, yet. May well be a plus when they do.

uhh just to let you know you could run a sprint radio and it wouldnt matter what carrier you have. the name is just so we know where the radio came from. its the info on how it tells your phone to pick up signal is what is important. i for one run the (latest??) verizon radio only because it pics up the best signal in my area. the more popular i believe is the telus. i was running that for awhile till this vzw radio came out. try the telus radio if you want.

I know I was pointing out even if your really close to the tower if there is terrain in between you and the tower doesn't matter if your 100 feet away you will not get a great signal!
