A solution to service in rural area?

I have to travel to a rural area for work every weekend and I get intermittent service. Is there a tweak/hack to get service there? Alltel/Verizon have towers in that area so I'm not sure why I don't get any service.

Re: A solution to service in rural area?

There is no way to get a signal with nothing generating it. If there are no towers nearby then you are SOL. Psycho_maniac solution could help you but repeaters can be expensive...

Re: A solution to service in rural area?

the towers are only 7 miles away so i don't see why it's a problem. also, i guess i don't know what you mean by "repeaters" ?

Re: A solution to service in rural area?

I use my Airave from sprint at home and love it, it's a connection through the internet so if you can get access to a connection request it, you can use it anywhere
i love it and could even use my phone at home before i got it

Re: A solution to service in rural area?

It might be a bad handset. If you have any frineds w/ the same service (or better yet, same phone), have them over & see what their experience is.

Good luck.
