I was able to get mine to work by setting the BT up as a wireless headphone

so it's announcing the text messages and reading them aloud for u over cars speakers?

Not sure what you mean. If "Hands-Free" is one of the profiles the BT device uses and the box is checked, shouldn't it already work? I've never seen a "wireless headphone" profile available for my BT devices.
