Re: Verizon GPS Question

I tried running ppst and updating with *228 in 6.5 and now my home screen and start menu are all glitchy, plus GPS still doesn't work. I am going to try the MR1 update even though it probably already had it when I got it. I will let you know how that goes.

Re: Verizon GPS Question

I flashed the MR1 update, still doesn't work. Location is set to on, Baud 4800, Comm 4. Am I missing something or is my phone borked?

I am using Google Maps. I might have tried HTC GPS Tools before, but I am not sure.

Re: Verizon GPS Question

have you setup the GPS in google and then clicked use GPS? also, try running the HTC GPS tools and see if you get any sats at all. when you open GPS tools, click on function, mode, cold start. then function, stress, on. the com should already be set to 4 and drop the baud to 4800. then click "open port" and wait.

Re: Verizon GPS Question

It is set to Managed by Windows and I have clicked use GPS. Then it just says Seeking GPS satellites (0). I will try the GPS tools after I get rid of this crappy stock rom.

Re: Verizon GPS Question

try the tool and see if it shows if its seeing sats and if it gets any locks. it could take a little while, min or more so just let it run and touch the screen every few seconds to keep the backlight on.

Re: Verizon GPS Question

there ya go. i find that a soft reset will speed that lock up if your phone has been on a while. fire up GPS tools first, let it lock, shut it down then fire up google or any other GPS program you want.
