GPS Issue on Alltel HTC Touch Pro

Hi Everyone,

I have been reading posts from here and several other forums about the GPS on Alltel's HTC Touch Pro. This is my 5th phone after several issues with the screen. I believe I had the GPS working on the other phones using Google maps. Below is what I have done and current settings.

E911 Location setting is set to ON.
External GPS Port is set to COM4
Hardware Port set to None
Baud Rate is set to 4800

Ran Quick GPS and it downloaded correctly.

When I got this phone, it had an updated stock rom than the previous phone. Below are my current specs.

Rom Verison: 2.01.671.1
Radio Verison: 1.03.13F
PRL Version: 40053
PRI Version: 2.00_011

I did a fresh hard reset today and started from scratch. I then Unlocked the phone using the Raphael CDMA HSPL 037

I did the AGPS Fix using the QPST tool.

I ordered the Alltel Navigation for a month. That program works. If I launch it, close it and run Google Maps, Google gets my location. Bing does not work. GPS Test will also find Satellites. If I remove Alltel Nav and restart the phone I can no longer get a location with Google (just states searching for Satalites), or GPS Test.

I had radio version 1.12.20F and downgraded to 1.03.13F and install PPST_090219_HermannC_Alltel_2.00_delta.sa.CAB

So what am I missing? Verzion has finally released a fix to unlock the GPS for other programs. I am now a verizon customer but with a Alltel phone so will that fix work for me? Do I need to flash to cooked ROM?

What does Alltel Nav do to enabled it so other programs work? I hope some of the advance guys on here will be able to help me.

Does it say that it is searching for satelites in google maps, or that GPS is not available?

sounds like alltel has the GPS locked. have you tried a custom rom?

No I have not tried using a custom rom. One question I had was after you go to a custom rom, and want to go back to the stock rom, where do you get the stock rom? I would assume directly from HTC.

im sure someone on here has the stock rom posted. check the rom section at the top of this forum.

I hAVE also lost connection with my GPS. It worked on stock Rom but not in 6.5. I have also noticed that pocketlastfm doesnt wok either. hmmmm....wonder if ALLTEL has really locked us out.

Yes, I have used QuickGPS.

Just checked my alltel TP and my GPS is working, I have a custom rom and Garmin app installed.
