been off site for weeks, b4 the upgrade rom even...

the guardian file thing at a glance is the same as one of the steps for using metropcs with ur pro.. theres been cabs around that create the dummy file and replace it for sometime now.. sure its new for the purose of tethering, but the process itself has been being used for ever now...

alando... this isnt the mogul forum, though itd be the same answer for any device... but this is about tethering not getting mms and data to work on boost... theres only a few people on here with tp's on boost i suggest searching for their posts then pm'ing them to see what they did..

also guys, for the trillionth time, if ur on a Pre-Upgrade Rom, use any of the post #1 methods and you wont get charged..

Upgrade Rom, there seems to be an issue that addresses the guardian file steps found in multiple places.. i dont have the Rom so i dont have first hand knowledge of this.. just follow the steps, which when i get to a pc ill add to post 1, and once youve done the guardian hack, again youll see now charges...

havent looked into Custom Roms in awhile been hooked on my TP2, but im guessing the chefs are cooking in whatever needs to be done to tether undetected as well just as they usually do

Welcome back!
That's why I created a new cab (hybrid mortscript) It seams that they were attempting to prevent registry workarounds, as another service is now responsible for launching the guardian. so the only way to "kill" it without custom rom is to replace with a dummy. (otherwise rom restores original.)

Re: [new edits]So You Want To Use Your TP/TP2 As A Modem??? Your Main Options...

The HTC Touch Pro2 still gives code 67 error even after applying the registry tweaks and using ICS. However I was able to still get around that if I started a program that would start up an internet connection first like Internet Explorer. It's quite annoying but only takes a few seconds.

BTW this is on the Sprint network with a SERO account.

I use WalkingHotSpot Daily with my Sprint HTC Touch Pro. Nice, 5 people allowed to use internet from one cell phone... should you run into a corporate firewall

Re: [new edits]So You Want To Use Your TP/TP2 As A Modem??? Your Main Options...

I loaded the tether.zip and Killer CM Guardian and everything is changed.
But I noticed that in the Internet Sharing program, there isn't a choice to pick Sprint PCS or Phone as Modem. I am guessing by looking at the regedits that it is forced to use Sprint. I would like to have a choice in the I.S. program just like it was in the I.S. program with the TOUCH. Is there a way, regedits or cab that will give me a dropdown choice?

Re: [new edits]So You Want To Use Your TP/TP2 As A Modem??? Your Main Options...

first, DONT BUMP MY THREAD... you wanna be rude, answer your own question or search...

second, do you have a phone as modem plan?? if you dont, quit complaining then as your already stealing data for tethering for free..

third, if you dont have a PAM, again, why r u asking for the option to use PAM.. the option has been takin out by just everyone.. using PAM w/o the plan, can result in the error67 code or getting charged, again, why would u want this?

lastly, DONT BUMP THREADS.. its extremely rude, and in the time u waited b4 your bump you couldve read pages and pages and pages on tetheriing here and its issues, edits, and hacks.. but since you just want all the work done for you, thats all your gettign from this OP.. goodday!
