Well the way they are set up at this YMCA, the touchscreen is too far away to be reachable without bending, and who wants to ride hunched over while pecking out letters on an un-responsive on-screen keyboard?
But, the PC does have cable TV (extended analog cable), and if you're so inclined, it can stream most internet radio stations. You can set up a profile that you can log into from any machine in the gym and your bookmarks/preferences follow you from machine to machine.
This little PC makes cardio workouts much less boring, and the Y even has small (single purpose) computers on the weight machines that track your form, weight lifted, sets, reps, etc. It's like having a personal trainer evaluate you at all times. These plug into the FitLinxx system.
Pool, steam room, showers, computer lab (full PCs not connected to exercise machines), etc... All this for $15/mo? Count me in...
Oh yes, and wellness trainers constantly roam the floor, and you can flag them down to ask almost any exercise-related question or if you need help with how to do something properly.
