Re: Juicy 8 vs Energy ROM
Update: the above message was written under the initial enthusiam of a newbie trying a new toy.
The energy rom is like a busty, blonde-bleached hottie. You know she looks real good and can give you some temporary satisfaction, but in the long run she will be a pain in the butt and maybe not the woman you wanna marry. The rom as it stands right now, has cutting edge graphics and design, but it has MAJOR bugs. You will need to run several fixes and tweaks to have a functional phone, and even then there's still a bug that has not been completely fixed. Namely, the ringer. You will receive calls and the phone will light up when a call comes in but it will not sound or vibrate. The temporary fix for that, is disabling the HTC dialer and enabling the WM. That means the contacts tab will be rendered unusabable. After all the issues I've encountered with the rom I'm thinking ditching it for Juicy. I need a stable rom, and more importantly a phone that is functional when it comes to receiving calls! |

Re: Juicy 8 vs Energy ROM
Using NRG 2.5 rom and I have no problems at all.
Installed fixes and patches. Using WM dialer with People and Messaging tabs disabled but I use sMMs and SMS chat so I have better features anyway. ![]() The extra tweaks make the rom IMO. Juicy has always made great roms as does NRG and both have made roms with glitches and bugs. Bugs that are mostly to do with WM builds and not necessarily to blame on the rom itself. NRG also has 2.1 roms that are pretty dang near flawless. It is only the 2.5 roms with issues. Go with NRG 2.1 and you will not have many if any problems. |

Re: Juicy 8 vs Energy ROM
I have pesonally used both roms as well. And well, to say the least, I have always stuck with the energy roms. They always just seem to have the right apps and basically what I'm looking for in a rom. NRG definitely puts his all and then some into these roms!! Big ups to NRG!!...Keep up the great work man, We appreciate you.
+1 for NRG

Re: Juicy 8 vs Energy ROM
I'm running Energy 21864/manilla 2.1 rom... I've been very happy with it so far. Only bug was the caps not working on the keyboard but there's an easy fix for that. I tried some of the earlier 6.5.1 builds but the stability wasn't there yet and it doesn't look like manilla 2.5 is stable yet either (I need to load them up again to play with them though).
I normally prefer stripped roms that are focused on stability... but in this case I gotta admit I really like the look of energy roms... a lot of the visual enhancements really do make for a better user experience. ...and battery life (after turning the backlight to auto and setting activesync to update every 10 minutes instead of constantly) has been comparable to NFSFan's rom and juicy's rom that I previously using as my daily drivers. Re: Juicy 8 vs Energy ROM
TP2 may be the way I go when upgrade time gets here.
Those new Droid devices look pretty sweet though. ![]() |
