Sprite Backup and ROM upgrade question

If i use Sprite Backup to back up my TP and then install one of the custom rom to play around, will i be able to restore my TP completely to the state that it was before the rom upgrade with the sprite image? was thinking about test driving some custom rom but want to be safe.

hmm i never used sprite back up but i was told sprite can back up all your settings but if you were coming from 6.1 then it sounds like you wont be able to keep your 6.1 settings on a 6.5 rom because well they are different but that is not a real answer just something i think might happen because i never used the program...but also heads people going to be like ur in the wrong thread blah blah blah so yea next time just post in gerneral but i mean hey people make mistakes right

Re: Sprite Backup and ROM upgrade question

I use Sprite Backup, it will accomplish what you want, it is good for going back to a ROM. Saves a lot of time! If you are going to test drive a couple of different ROMS, I would suggest Sashimi.

Yes, I have done this and it has been my personal experience that trying this brings some weird behavior on the phone: some applications work fully while others would just crash even on basic use.

The newest version of Sprite backup gives you the option to restore across same Rom versions. I use it with no problems that I know of. You can also just restore personal data by itself. Well worth the money to me.

Re: Sprite Backup and ROM upgrade question

I use MS MyPhone to back up texts, contacts, appts, and tasks. It will also backup video and pictures. For other customizations it is hard to carry those across ROMs but there are a number of threads and/or apps that can be used to create cabs that will quick install your favorite settings.

Re: Sprite Backup and ROM upgrade question

I have tried exactly this too, and had problems. As someone else said, it just doesn't work right after that. I have had to re-flash back to the original rom, then restore the backup. Even when I do this, I still end up with a few quirks, some programs that are no longer installed, settings that need to be re-done, etc.
