Re: User Customization Backup for Touch Pro using sashimi

SASHIMI has got me spoiled and i am trying to learn mortscript to find a quicker way if not automate the entire process of restoring phone after the flashdance. Here are a couple of scripts to automate backup and restore of PPCPIMBackup which is my preferred app to saving PIM data, text messages and stuff.

The back up script "usepimbackup.mscr" can be saved anywhere you like on the storage card. The script will create a folder called BACKUPs in My Documents directory of storage card. Run it first and if you like, you can create a lnk in sashimi to have it show up in the start menu after a flash.

The "restorepim.mscr" written by studentjunk, should be saved in sashimi\auto\scripts folder. This will automatically run PPCPIMBackup to restore your most recent backup during sashimi auto install.

This has been tested on my phone at least a dozen times. Hope it helps!!

Re: User Customization Backup for Touch Pro using sashimi

Have you guys started using the .auto function? Basically, it allows you to send a key press or similar when certain programs ask for user input before installing, but you have to know the window name that is asking for the input.

Anyway, I use SBP Walletv2 and it asks for a language selection input. Anyone have an auto file for that?

I don't use SBP, but I do use auto files for both google maps and bing. You can just install the program and the window title will be shown when the installation asks for whatever input it requires. In your case, the language file.

Thanks for the quick reply.
What would you suggest for this window? I am stumped...

Re: User Customization Backup for Touch Pro using sashimi

Can anyone help me? I am using MightyRom and want to do this so restoring after new Roms would be easier.

I am a bit lost in the creation of the SDConfig.txt file.

It says to:
* Create an SDConfig.txt file with the below commands and save it to the root of the Storage Card. (Included SDConfig.txt attached)

What are the below commands? Also I did not see an Included SDConfig.txt.

Also I am using PHPreg to back up DeviceName and Alarm settings. When you export to Storage Card what name do you give the files? Does it matter?

Splash screen and startup sound I don't mind so no change there.

For Voicemail Number password. Do I need to do this? I have a password for voicemail thru Sprint. I thought the password was save with Sprint and not on the phone?

Also is Makisu the way to save all my email information login for Outlook Gmail using their exchange server, Hotmail and Yahoo email accounts?

TIA!

Re: User Customization Backup for Touch Pro using sashimi

Don't worry about sdconfig for now. You can manually run sashimi using the file explorer. I don't know PHreg. If they are being exported to a reg file, you can just put them in the auto\reg folder. Voicemail password is not needed if you dail voicemail from phone - most carriers use caller id to recognize your phone.
Yes, Makisu is what you can use for email settings. I don't know how it works with various mail servers. I use it for pop mail.

I too would like to know how to use SDConfig to launch Sashimi.

Re: User Customization Backup for Touch Pro using sashimi

I didn't realize he was asking that. Sorry. I figured out how to use the autorun from the manual. Attached is my sdconfig file, which of course is at the root of my sdcard. You can figure out where the other files go by looking at the text of the sdconfig file. I am not sure if this is the most elegant way of autostarting sashimi with a flash. for that matter, I am not even completely sure that it works. I just know that usually sashimi starts on its own when I flash or hard reset.
