I need a good car charger

Hello,

I've gone through 2 car chargers now. FIrst one was a bootleg motorola one which wouldnt even get recognized by my tp. Second one was a generic miniusb, that the tp would act like it was charging but never did. The HTC oem one is like $25, anyone have any luck with anything cheaper?

i have been using a moto charger from my K1m for both my 6800 and TP with no problems. it was just a cheap charger i picked up from a store that had them. nothing special about it. when your charging are you running any programs?

I used the one that came with my bluetooth GPS. It looks super generic, so I wouldn't worry. Just try to see if you can get a charger that outputs at around 500ma to 1A, preferably 1, but I'm not sure if car chargers handle power outputs that high.

I have been using this one and LOVE it!

Charges SUPER FAST and it's very cheap. It may take you a week to get it as it's coming from Hong Kong, but it's tough to beat the price.

Actually, be careful about charging fast. It may reduce battery life. From what I understand, you want to charge slow. Stay away from 10-minute battery chargers in any cell chemistry, NiMH or Li-Ion.

Check that the cell does not get hot while charging.. Most cells die from overheating, getting cooked to death, or overdischarge but I don't think the latter is possible in the TP as it cuts off before any damage occurs (I hope)

It's not a "rapid charger" per say. It still takes 1hr to charge from 0% to full on this guy. The phone doesn't get any hotter than normal, unless you're charging, using GPS, and running other stuff to...but it would do that under max load even if it's not charging.

i would recommend rocket fish car charger its the best I've not had one problem (knock on wood) lol but my charger before i went through 6 of them they kept shorting out but you can get rocket fish from best buy anywhere!

Yeah they're $25 but if your thinking long term, they are definitely the way to go. I got two & had em ever since I had my Mogul.
