If you did the upgrade from the Full exe file and not the extracted version, your PRI on the Device Info page should read 2.01_002

go check to see if you have that or not

Re: Help with Verizon Firmware

So I ran outside to get lunch and did the whole *228 programming for the phone and all was well.

GPS locked in about 35 seconds (which sounds right for the first lock). I did notice that Quick GPS comes preloaded on this ROM which was a surprise.

At least they unlocked the GPS but we all know that |||BORED||| is the man that unlocked it long before they even announced that they planned to do it.

Re: Help with Verizon Firmware

so...I'm thinking I just wait until a chef builds a rom with the gps and visual voice mail bits, yah?

It doesn't seem like this rom is really needed, unless it really makes better use of the memory

Re: Help with Verizon Firmware

This ROM fixes Voice Command. For me, that has been the deal breaker all along with the Toch Pro. Voice Command now works just as it did with my XV6700. Where I work, it is crucial to have it working. I changed the pagepool to 8 MB and this ROM is as fast as any I have tested. Using Mobile Shell 3 and Pocket Shield, I have 50 MB's free RAM.

Now, the battery drain is another issue. With push turned on, this ROM is a vampire. I will rub some garlic on my battery this morning and give it a full day and see how it goes again.

Now for me, I must have Voice Command working, so I am sticking with this ROM.. 8(

So My question is, can we hack this thing to get in all the battery savings as well as tethering? Is there anything we can do to assist in getting Kitchens working with Voice Command?

Re: Help with Verizon Firmware

Not sure if anyone notices, but there is now an official version 2 of the MR1 update. Its available on the manufacturer's site:
http://pcdphones.com/phone_downloads...zon%20Wireless

According to the article on wmexperts.com this corrects something with the GPS fix. When I first installed MR1 v1 the PRI was not updating (was still showing 1.46). Bored's version worked... perhaps this one will now to.

Actually the upgrade file posted officially is the same one that was posted unofficially a few days ago.
The hash and date of the installer is the same.

The only thing that they changed is the attached help document.
Near the bottom of the help document the following was added "Note: VZNavigator version 4.1.5 build 241 or greater must be used with this software".
So it seems that PhoneNews got it wrong.
