Unhappy IMplus and data connection

Okay so I've had a similar problem with this one on Wifi but now its doing it with my data connection.
I just downloaded the new IM+ on the TP (MR5) and its running fine and all but when I turn my screen off, after about 15 minutes it signs me out of the aim app. I'm not sure if it cuts my connection because the screen is off for a certain time or what. But does anyone know what causes this and/or how to stop it? registry hacks...advanced config? idk
