Re: TP dead screen... how to file expl using keyboard?

shadow, I don't know what to say. I'm looking at the screen and it's waiting for a yes/no to install 'remote' in the windows folder. I do have an activesync connection for what it's worth.

I do appreciate all this help by the way... very frustrated here.

Which ROM are you running, by any chance?

On a side note, you may be able to use MortScript to hit the key for you? Or if you know the sequence entirely, use MortScript to do the whole thing.

standard Verizon ROM. Nothing interesting other than a GPS fix.

Re: TP dead screen... how to file expl using keyboard?

So if I am understanding you right, you are connecting to the phone ok, but you are getting a prompt with the mymobiler program. I'm not at home now, so I can't try it on my own computer. However, I don't remember mymobiler requiring any interaction with the phone to get it up and running. It does require an activesync connection.

Are you able copy files from your phone to the computer through activesync? If so, then you may be able to manually install mymobiler through the desktop mymobiler program.

Re: TP dead screen... how to file expl using keyboard?

I went through this the other day. I went to the settings page map the favorites button to the left soft key. That should get you through my mobiler, which is a great app by the way.

Then went to ae.inc.ru and got AE Button Plus. Mapped two keys FN+3 and FN6 on the keyboard to the left and right soft keys respectively. If you can get the home and back buttons on the front for this function then congrats. For me it went to home then did the left button so I always ended up in contacts.

Waiting for my warranty repair from Verizon. On Day 4, and the managers won't sign off on sending me a new phone because they don't have any refurbs. (ARGH!)

Re: TP dead screen... how to file expl using keyboard?

barron... can I get you to step me through this? How do I map the fav to soft1 via settings, with TF3D running?

junk, yes, that's right. i can explore the phone fine from pc. but I'd have to be able to execute the remote app on the phone and that takes more than dragging it to the windows folder... I'll try non the less. good idea.

OK. So make sure active sync is connected, run mymobiler from the desktop. Right click the new mobiler icon on the taskbar. go to configuer mobile\uninstall. Then, go to configure mobile\install. Then connect and that should do the trick.

Re: TP dead screen... how to file expl using keyboard?

Success!

barron... that was the trick. I found where to set the fav button to soft 1 and was able to run my backup (pim backup) and restore to the new device.

Gotta love the internet community. thanks folks!
