TP dead screen... how to file expl using keyboard?

Hi,

My TP screen died and I need to navigate to a folder so I can execute a PIM backup to xfer to my replacement...

Anyone know how to use the keyboard to navigate up/down the file explorer tree etc?

Quick responses kindly appreciated as I'm dead at the moment...

download and install this on your computer

http://www.mymobiler.com/

you then can use your computer as the actual screen

Re: TP dead screen... how to file expl using keyboard?

thanks for the quick reply cyn. question

So this will allow me to execute an app on the phone from the PC? or just echo the screen? I need to navigate to a folder and run an app on the phone using the phones keyboard, I think.

Yes, it's like using remote desktop or something for your PC. It gives you full control over the phone from the UI. It's pretty neat, lightweight, and works well, doesn't require you to press anything on the phone, just establish an activesync connection.

can't install it...

the phone wants a yes/no response to install the client side and since the screen is dead to touches, I can't select 'yes'. which of course was my original issue...! argh.

Click the enter button. Yes, is usually the default choice.

Re: TP dead screen... how to file expl using keyboard?

thats funny... I've tried every combo of enter/function/arrow etc I could think of, nada. seems to be no way from the keyboard to to simulate any of the onscreen 'buttons'. all I need is an 'up' so I can file explorer to the right folder.... this is insane

Not the enter key of the keyboard, the enter button of the directional pad.

It has never asked my permission when starting for the first time. It installs and runs it on the phone automatically. You -need- an activesync connection.

Re: TP dead screen... how to file expl using keyboard?

I understand... trust me, none of the keyboard, dial, volume, etc work to select the onscreen buttons. I've tried a zillion combos. I believe it has to be via a keyboard combo, but I can't find it.

I do know that if I can highlight the right item then the keyboard enter or dial enter work fine. For example, I can select contacts, via scroll wheel, enter and type a name to highlight it and then enter to select it. works fine. It just seems that the 2 onscreen buttons in the corners are unselectable via the keyboard. At least so far...
