Re: WARNING Battery Danger

The same thing will happen to camera batteries, you need to cover them in plastic wrap, preferably a case of some kind to prevent stuff like this.

Re: WARNING Battery Danger

Yeah, just saw this on engadget lol. I can't believe I missed this thread originally. I carry these batteries in my pack pocket often, an OEM one and a Seidio one. I'm beginning to become a bit wary.

Re: WARNING Battery Danger

you probably punctured it with your keys or sat on it andcracked the internals causing a chemical reaction. It was in your back pocket after all...

Re: WARNING Battery Danger

Any battery subjected to harsh conditions can cause it to explode. Here is a possibility of why yours exploded. http;//www.howstuffworks.com/possible_battery_fire

This could have been it. Not sure I remember sitting that night, but it could have happened any of the times I carried the battery. I didn't wash the jeans and there was nothing wet around them.

On a side note, quite surprised when I was reading engadget (a daily routine of mine) and I see my pants on there. Kinda weird.

Should we believe this? Why would I make something up like this? I am not going after Sprint, I am not going after HTC. I simply posted this so that others that might be doing what I did will think twice. I gain nothing out of this. You don't have to believe me. I was just trying to be a good person and post my experience so others may not have to go through it.

Re: WARNING Battery Danger

I'm thinking either the battery got too hot from being under that pile of clothes or had damage from being sat on. Might have even been a combination of both.

You made it all up to get people to think their battery will explode haha. Jk man. Yea, thanks for showing this to us and it seems this has given you internet fame for the last few days! Haha. I must have overlooked, did you say this was an oem batt?

EDIT: NM found it, sorry, it was an OEM.
