Do I re-lock phone after I flash to new rom

Getting ready to flash for the first time so I am a noob at this. Do I relock the phone back after I flash to new rom?

Nope, the "lock" is only for your provider. If its locked then only a "signed" ROM can be put on it. Leave it unlocked until you have to return it, then relock it and put the stock ROM back on it.

Good luck! It's much easier than it sounds, as long as you follow instructions. I was nervous the first time. Once you start flashing, you'll never stop though!

What ROM are you flashing?

Okay, I think I messed up. I am stuck in the security unlocked mode. The phone is unlocked but I cant get out of this and I didn't save the rom on my sd card so I have to do it via activesync. How do I relock to unlock again.

u can just flash ur rom from there, or a soft reset should take u outta bootloader mode

Well I soft reset and it takes me back to the screen option to update image to unlock.

well, you can always plug in your card to the computer and re-up a new ROM or unlocker.

I am having a blonde moment. I don't have a flash drive so how would I do what you suggested.

Hmmm, well I have been through that and it is difficult. The RUU likes to see an Active Sync or WMDC connection to work properly most of the time. The latest unlockers are HERE>> http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=42503
If that doesn't work, you may have to do what I did, flash with the RUU, everything you can think of. I went back to the stock ROM, a differet carrier, relocker, unlocker, etc... it took a long time to get the right combo. In the mean time, I would reccommend finding a friend with a card reader and prepping the new ROM that way. Saves a LOT of hassle.
