Contact showing? A little help, Please.

Ok guys, I've been searching and searching for an answer, but can't find anything. I'm on a 6.5 rom and my contacts aren't showing when they call, just a number. I know this has been discussed, but I still haven't found the answer. I remember reading a thread one time on using adv config or diamond tweak to not use sim card. That didn't do anything for me. I used Sprite to backup my contacts. What gives? Can someone Please point me in the right direction. Thanks.

can you view your contacts names and numbers when you search for them on the phone?

Re: Contact showing? A little help, Please.

yup. no problem with seeing them. at first, when i had this prob with going to 6.5, i figured out a fix which was changing ever number to (xxx) xxx-xxxx format. then everything was golden. after backing them up that format, i get the my old problem back after restoring them when i reflash my roms. in other words my fix is already fixed, but not working. even when i re-add a contact, i get the same issue. very irritating. spent at least 3 hr just today searching for a fix.

Re: Contact showing? A little help, Please.

okay try this since you already have them backed up: Purge all of your call history and clear it out. clear your contacts out also. Restore your contacts first before dialing or receiving any calls. After that's done, try a test call from a number that's stored in your list.

Let me know if it works

If i'm not mistaken, SKTools can do that. I'll download and verify right now.

Re: Contact showing? A little help, Please.

SKTools can do it. Go to all tools then you'll see one of them saying 'Delete PIM Information' which includes deleting all contacts. SKTools also allows you to purge call history.

Re: Contact showing? A little help, Please.

even after SKTools? ouch! Sorry bro maybe another handy member knows. I thought this would work because it did the same thing for me but with texts, when i flashed over and added contacts again, they would still come in with only numbers. Until i deleted all my texts and contacts then readded them. Maybe a hard reset can solve.

PS- I use Dashwire to back up my things.
