Thanks everyone for all your help. I got rid of the free memory card that the phone came with and Ive been using a 2GB sdhc card that I have had for a few years now. Its never given me any problems before but before I go and buy another card (although I do want to get a 16GB card soon) Ill try a few of the solution you guys have said first.

I had similar problems with activesync. It worked as soon as I did the process without a card in the slot, and it has worked subsequently with an 8 gb card in the slot......so the sd card that shipped with the tp seemed to me to have been the culprit.

I upgraded to a bigger one, SDHC 16Gb and I can flash from it just fine.

So it's NOT an issue on ALL SDHC class cards. But I did have the issue I couldn't flash from an 8Gb card which is why I threw that out there.

not true, numerous people flash via sdhc as i have numerous times.

I have to take the card out of the Touch Pro before I can flash using Activesync. If I leave it in, it will act like it is flashing, but it isn't. All it does is pretend to flash. It hard resets instead.
