Call gets dropped mid-call because of evdo access

When I call somebody for an extended period of time, I suddenly get "signal lost", lose the call, and then I notice that the internet evdo connection becomes active (the arrows become solid). I can't exactly pinpoint what software is accessing the internet. What can I do to disable EVDO during the call?

Re: Call gets dropped mid-call because of evdo access

I doubt that that is why your call is being dropped. When you enter a call your EV connection is suspended until the end of the call so I think what you are seeing is the reconnection to EV after the call is dropped for w/e other reason. I would try maybe updating your radio/PRL before anything else.

I agree. Even the switch gives Voice priority over data. It should not be possible for a data connection to interupt a voice connection. The device is most likely just "reconnecting". How often does this happen?

Re: Call gets dropped mid-call because of evdo access

I see, maybe it was just a coincidence and I hadn't checked carefully enough to make sure it was the sole cause. I find that even though I have a decent signal (3-4 bars) in my room, the call often gets dropped. It usually doesn't happen anywhere else, just this particular room.

Re: Call gets dropped mid-call because of evdo access

I would try the Telus Radio, I had call drop issues until I changed to that radio. Although radios seem to be dependent on your area, so give a try and see.

The link to the radios is here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=46616
