I'm pretty sure this problem was caused by advanced config or diamond tweak. I made a cab a while back to fix. you may want to run the cab after changing any settings in the aforementioned apps. (or just check the reg)

welcome to the site, and I gotta say that's a pretty good first post.

Re: 3 weeks in, I'm not sure Touch Pro is for me

This is my second WinMo device...when I had my Mogul...I ran stock ROM and radio...and I dealt with the battery life and the lack of memory (no multitasking.)

Since I bought my TP...took me about a month to take the plunge into flashing a custom ROM...(Y4J's Clean) I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. No more bloat-ware, no more battery lasting half a day, and the phone was SOOOO MUCH FASTER. Flashing a new radio came later...and I was really skeptical...until my battery lasted me a day and a half (moderate use.)

Bottom line...flash...flash and you won't be sorry...

unlock your phone here

read up on flashing here

on the different radios here

Re: 3 weeks in, I'm not sure Touch Pro is for me

I dont no..I've flashed (running Mighty 4.16 and telus radio) I've tweaked I've pee'd on the phone and still my battery isn't great.. don't mistake as it is better than it was straight out the box..but the battery last long enough to hook the phone up to my tv and watch 1 movie from full charge to dead... not to mention it can be 100% charged and as soon as I unhook it. it loses 2%..and then down 10% in a matter of minutes..but will stay at 89 to 90% for a long while IF NO USE....

i agree 10000%... VZW will activate any cdma phone, so IMO your mistake was getting the crippled version of the touch pro...

2. Battery life. At first I thought it was just impossibly bad, then after a few days of burning the battery all the way and recharging I thought it was almost ok, but I find myself afraid to make calls (let alone do something like GPS) if I'm away from a charger and want to keep battery life. Part of the problem may be where I live . . . my poor reception at home means I get a much longer battery run at work than I do at home. But say 90 minutes of talk time and 20 minutes of internet over a 6 hour period and I'm dead. This isn't enough to get me through the work day, let alone through the day (which for me is typically about 19 hours).
.
First issue I would try switching to the standard windows mobile dialer. Seems to have helped with me.

Second issue why not try and extended battery from Telesales. Adds some bulk to the phone but works wonders for me gave me atleast another 5 - 6 hours boost to take me through the rest of my day. (Im willing to sacrifice I bigger bulge in the pocket for more productivity but thats just me.)

VZW will activate any cdma phone? dont even know what to say about that for a minute. If you just read some of the other threads here you would know the trouble it takes AT THIS POINT. you would need to KNOW somebody that has the ability to put an esn in the database which not everyone even has access to in the company.

As for the crippled version mess lets not get into that again. There have been so many threads debating this and that lets not bring it here.

So everyone agrees that the Telus radio is better than Sprint 1.11.00F?
