I've installed it, but don't really know how to check if it's actually working or not.

One strange thing I noticed.. it says my current clock speed is 0.0MHz

When I tried to install via the .exe it said there was some security software likely preventing the install. so I tried installing with the .cab file instead, and that installed fine, but I'm wondering if the security thing is preventing the program from reading the current clock speed and even adjusting the clock even though it installed fine with the .cab

running Telus HTC Touch Pro, shipped ROM no changes cept for some tweaks.

I just uninstalled the .cab, and then went to install the .exe and this time it installed and asked for a reboot, no security prompt at all. very strange.

But it now shows me the processor speed, and I can see it go down after the 5000ms and again when the screen dims.. very good

I'm excited about this, but wasn't there something similar a few years ago? I vaguely remember a pay app in the days of the Apache (6700) that automatically throttled the CPU but in doing so actually used more power.

I'm not saying that's the case here, just trying to refresh my memory.

i installed it. i like the fact that it does limit the power usage by clocking done the processor. the only problem i have with this is that a lot of programs become virtually unusable. i.e. things like s2p or wmp.

you are correct, there was an app for the Apache that did process (CPU scalar perhaps?), but was supposed to actually reduce battery life. Given no2chem's knowledge of the low-level drivers, however, and the triggers he is using to drive CPU adjustment (relatively simple: standby, screen off, time delay), I do not predict this will decrease performance significantly.

If anything this app should be good for those traveling and wishing to prolong battery life in standby, not those powerusers looking for an extra 20 minutes in a day.



I have been wondering if the TP architecture / processor already performed some form of CPU scaling, as it seems a pretty big basic step to increasing battery performance.

Running a fresh install of Juicy 7 090418H, and I've had to soft reset 4 times in less than 10 minutes after installing this... Looks like there are some bugs.

EDIT: It seems 3 of those 4 times were after I opened nuePower to check the discharge rate, then attempted to close it and it just hung. I haven't used nuePower, and things seem okay now...

I highly suggest running EnableRAPI.cab / RAPIEnable.cab like the installer is telling you to if you have security issues.

Otherwise, you can find the cab other "Click here for other versions" under the download link.

one problem that i found.
is there a way for you to incorporate an option in the future release so we can add our list of programs into the list so that while they are running, the dynamic clock doesn't kick into place while suspended?

the reason i ask is because, i play a lot of online streaming music through window media player. i realized that if i stream and i press the power button to go into suspend, it would lock up the phone. i could not turn it on unless soft reset.

Does this problem occur even if you disable the clock control on suspend?

apparently it's not stable. as soon as it goes into power saving when backlight turns off or suspended the stream start stuttering. then it would lock up eventually.
