Is my phone unlocked?

Do i need to unlock it everytime i flash?

i'm in the mode right now where i see several different colors on my screen (volume down and power button).

no if u have unlocked i once then you are good to go...and that colored screen is the bootloader it should say security unlocked at the top

If you are in the tri-color screen that is the bootloader mode. You need to be in this mode to flash a rom and yes your phone needs to be unlocked,

But also before you flash a rom make sure you know if your phone is a CDMA type or a GSM type. Because if you try to flash a GSM rom to a CDMA phone you will "BRICK" your phone.

It will always say security unlocked. Even if you are still locked with the factory spl. On the second line of info it will show 0.35.CMONEX or 0.37.CMONEX if you are properly unlocked

In the prior link I sent you, you will want to use the cmonex .37 hard spl.

Why are you telling him which hard spl to use when he's already unlocked? He's asking if he has to unlock each time before he flshes a different rom. His question was already answered by havox22.
