Download this program:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/atta...9&d=1236890770

Run the software that i provided (tcptune). Use the following settings for Cellular line 1, and Cellular line 2:

Rwin: 98300
Windows Scaling on
TTL 128
MTU Discovery on
Selective Acks on
Time Stamps off

Reboot.

Peep the speed blast.

Forgot to mention that I'm on Sprint. Not sure if this works on other carriers but it would not hurt to try.

just did this on STAR Rom v1.5 6.5 and all the setting you have listed are already there

Probably pretty similar but these always get me the best & most consistent results:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\Tcpip\Parms]
"TcpWindowSize"=dword:00256960
"TCP1323Opts"=dword:00000001
"TimerWheelSize"=dword:00000005
"TcpMaxDataRetransmissions"=dword:0000000a
"TcpMaxConnectRetransmissions"=dword:0000000a
"IGMPLevel"=dword:00000000
"TcpMaxDupAcks"=dword:00000002

and I'll tell you why:
Any time the Rwin (aka-"TcpWindowSize") is over 64k (+65536) windows mobile automatically enables window scaling.
-Thats why 98304 is working better than you stock settings.
-The reason why 256960 works better, for me, is because of the way window scaling works. Basically, it steps down faster than it steps up. So start larger... it'll adjust.

Just check out the picture. Granted it was in the middle of the night, but it is possible.

When you add these to the registry are you using Binary, Decimal, or Hexadecimal?

Yup. Hex.
If it's in quotes, or has letters, It's got to be Hexidecimal.
Hope that helps for future reading.

I noticed a slight increase in speed, but not much.

I really think what's making a difference for most is the "Time Stamp = off"

+1 to that

The other thing that made the biggest difference to me (ON SPRINT) was this little check box:
Settings-Connections(tab)-Connections-ManageExisting-Edit(button)
-Next-Next-AdvancedThen uncheck IPheader compression.

Thats the other biggest thing that almost tripled my speeds in 1-2 service-bar-areas and got me above the 700kbps during the daytime.

Note/thoughts: I'm in NewEngland and, as we know with how the different radios work better or worsein different parts of the country, I think some of our networks may have different options enabled in different places as well as different towers with different upgrades ie. city vs suburban. Just a guess. Please don't quote me on that, hehe.
All I do know is that this phone is wicked fast and these help me actually proove it.
If This helps... Don't forget to hit the Thanks button -->

Here are some good discussions on tweaking

And I recommend speedtest.net, when you're tethering, because it automatically directs you to the closest server and you can see where your HAaddress is. Info here:

Enjoy the brainfood.

Service and speed around here sucks! I've been stuck at the 140-300k range for the last 2 months with all the "updates" and the switch to Verizon (I'm on Alltel). I did talk to tech support and they are updating to REV A in my area. It just might take up to 5 months before it's complete. So I believe all these tweaks will do nothing for me at this time. Guess I'm stuck with the crappy speeds for a while. Fun fun.
