Re: Touch PRO full MMS with CRICKET!!!

The internet is and always has been working fine. It was always the mms that gave me issues. When I get an mms it gives me that "The answering modem has disconnected" error unless I have been on the internet and left the internet connection active. This is what leads me to believe it is an epst or registry setting somewhere....although when I tried flashing to the above roms one wouldn't give me the error, but it wouldn't let me download the pic, and the other just wouldn't even let the mms come into the phone at all.

Re: Touch PRO full MMS with CRICKET!!!

I have been fighting with the same thing. It's starting to drive me crazy. One thing I noticed is that when I went BACK and re-checked the registry settings a few of them had changed. I would say do a hard reset and do it again on the same rom you have installed.

I don't have any idea why it acts so flaky, not connecting and doing weird things but it is happening to me too. But... Every time I can get it work by messing with the registry settings again. I still think just looking for the Cricket MMS 2 cab at HoFo is a lot easier than this way. The only problem I have with that one is whenever I click new MMS and click the picture box to find a pic, the menu is messed up. That's the only reason I'm even messing with this way. LOL

What MMS 2 cab at hofo are you talking about? That might actually help me in my situation. Maybe if one of us can get it figured out we can get the solution and post it for others if they run into this problem as well.

Re: Touch PRO full MMS with CRICKET!!!

OK, not sure if this has already been mentioned so if it has sorry. Here's the simple easy steps I have taken to get Cricket working. I've probably flashed ROMs about 40-50 times and can get Cricket fully working quickly. Between PPCGeeks and HoFo there is a lot of Cricket info floating around. It was a bit confusing at first and in hindsight I ended up doing some things manually and then unwittingly using cabs that did the same thing again.

These steps worked for me. I take no responsibility if you brick your TP and I take no credit as none of this is my work.

1) Make sure your phone is UNLOCKED. If you don't know what I'm talking about then you probably shouldn't be messing with MMS & WAP settings either. Just search around here and HoFo and you'll figure it out.

2) I used the following info from Ryan Mogul at HoFo for setting up my ePST. http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1507276 You should follow every step exactly. Go slow as some of it can be confusing and a simple mistake here will surely have you chasing all sorts of problems down the road. Also keep in mind that while these steps that Ryan has outlined can take a while, you only need to do it once. Doesn't matter if you flash 100 ROMs, these ePST settings will stay.

3) Flash any ROM you want to try

4) Do the MMS settings as Ivan kindly mentioned in Post #1 of this thread

5) That's it, you're done. WAP and MMS should be working, as should voice and SMS. Only thing that doesn't work is the email issue everyone has with Cricket. Spend the rest of your time restoring your contacts, setting up email accounts, loading cabs, customizing, tweaking....whatever.

*6) If you plan on flashing ROMs often, invest in a solid backup program. I use Sprite backup personally, but many others work well too. This way I can get the phone just how I like it, back it up, then play around with other ROM's and easily get back to my perfect setup that I know will work.

Oh, and one final bit of advice that has helped me. Create a text document and copy/paste all the steps you take to get your phone working. Any time you manually do a regedit that you like add it to your document. That way you will always have your very own guide to get your phone setup and won't have to hunt through all these long forum threads. I can't tell you how many times I knew there was a post that had some info I needed but I couldn't remember if it was here or at HoFo and which thread it was in.

Did exactley that and didn't skip a step. Am still getting the "The answering modem has disconnected" error when I get an mms. It has to be a setting somewhere in my phone.

Hmmmm...sorry.

That's all I can think of to do. Figured that would wipe out any incorrect settings you've got.

Re: Touch PRO full MMS with CRICKET!!!

If that CricketMMS2.cab didn't work for you, then the only thing I can think is that you are flashing a rom that has some other carrier settings, or something. That cab takes ALL the guesswork out of setting up web and MMS.

I just reflashed and followed the steps in the first post. For some reason I had the same problem as you. But... I went back to the registry and saw that it created a Default under MM1. Also, check the wspheader under MM1 and make sure there is a setting X-Cricket-MDN and it is your 10 digit phone number. I don't have a 1 in front of mine.

I am using the cab off of hofo and the mms2 cab as well. everything checks out in the registry as well. This has got me baffled and ticked off.
