No, this will no longer work, actually i believe it used to be option 3. Either way VZW plug'd the hole and the MEID/ESN will not be recognized.

If it is already activated you can use *228 option 2 to update your PRL

Flash the Verizon PRI and ERI. No more roaming triangle (unless you're really roaming, of course) and *228 works, no messing with custom PRLs ever again.

Not sure why everyone doesn't just do this. Its a tiny bit more work at first, changing 2 things instead of 1, but it saves you from ever having to worry about it in the future. This is especially relevant now with Verizon doing PRL updates so often as they integrate the Alltel network.

I didn't do this originally as the Verizon PRI would have always had a locked GPS at the time unless I'm mistaken??

I manually updated the PRL to 51190 & that worked perfectly so I never changed it (I know there are a couple newer ones available). 51190 got rid of the roaming triangle, but of course a *228 option 2 update would cause it to come back as the VZ PRL was not compatible with the Sprint PRI 1.47.003 which is what is in my phone now.

I never really worried about roaming too much as VZ doesn't charge for roaming on a nationwide data/voice plan. At this point, I'm kinda paranoid about making ANY CHANGES that might affect my VZ activation. My phone running Mighty 4.16 works absolutely perfect at this point (by far the best phone I've ever owned) & I would be seriously p!ssed if I made a change & it messed up my VZ activation & I couldn't get it activated again.

Not entirely true. I've tried both unmodified and Bored's modified PRI along with the Verizon ERI and it does not eliminate the roaming triangle on Sprint phones. The only method to get rid of the triangle on a Sprint Touch Pro on Verizon is by using a modded PRL.

Yea, I wondered about that statement when I read it as I was fairly sure it was incorrect from all the testing I have done.

I was not 100% sure, so I let the post stand but I'm not real surprised to read your response..........

Curious. I am using a VZW PRI on an Alltel TP and no longer have a Roaming Triangle. Prior to doing so it did show it so I am curious as to why it does not work on a Sprint TP. I know someone with a Sprint TP, will test it myself.
