Ok I read this whole thread and I am having multiple issues....
The most annoying is the program freezes every so often. It causes me to have to soft reset 3-5x a day. I have ran this program on wm 6.1 and 6.5 and the issue happens on both. Once a text or pic mail is sent or I open a conversation and close it the bar that includes the drop down menu is messed up and I can read a line of conversation in it and sometimes the screen rotates but the width doesn't change for landscape. Also when typing a message after I send one message the text takes a long time to catch up to my keyboard strokes. Sometimes the keyboard doesn't even work or light up and the onscreen keyboard is so delayed sometimes as well. Ive uninstalled and reinstalled. On the send and receiving pics and vids I have absolutly no trouble. It does take awhile while roaming for the pics to upload and double the time for the other party to receive. When I get into EVDO it uploads quickly and they receive quickly. I am using DB rom w/ wm 6.5

I had some stalling and freezing issues when I first installed it but after a few days it cleared itself. As for the lag, I wonder if you're phone is still in 'send mode' for sending the photo so its dragging the system? Not sure... just thinking outloud.

could be I flashed to another rom and it is still laggy but not nearly as bad.

I started a thread about this cause I have been getting delayed messages. Messages sent at 3pnm and not getting to my phone until 8pm. Is anyone else having this issue?

What is you're service area like? Are you getting full signal or is it in roaming or bouncing back and forth alot?
