Re: HTC lack of support for QTV video driver VGA
Eh.. if you look at who's behind windows-mobile manufacturing, HTC is pretty much the only game in town. Till the iphone came out they didn't have to add anything to their phones. From their perspective, where would you go?

As to the OP - you call it negativity, but honestly - this thread has been started many times before. There was even a website started by HTC Tilt owners - threatening a class act lawsuit. HTC didn't care then about the driver issue, and still doesn't care. So you're trying to rally the troops that have been rallied many times before. At this point, you realize that's a limitation with HTC - and you either buy their products knowing this, or you vote with your wallet by NOT buying their products. I bought the touch pro knowing about the possibility - but with my next phone, I more than likely will not settle. HTC is rumored to have bought a license to produce phones with the high powered Nvidia Tegra processor - and if so, I wonder how/if they'll be limited. Certain companies - and Archos is notorious for this - you can't purchase products from on the basis of expected improvements or even products. I believe this is the case with HTC. You should only purchase their products based on current/existing performance and hope for the best in the future. |

agreed, but evidently not many people seem to agree from the lackluster response here. It's like having a Corvette with a governor at 85 mph

Re: HTC lack of support for QTV video driver VGA
old fight, newer technology. I do not recall my Mogul issues having anything to do with qtv... if you want to blanket a statement, well I suppose almost every issue covered here has been covered before in some format...the TP is more than new enough to try and rally some support. and yes, I did call it negativity...maybe you call it raising the white flag ..or bending over. From what I read before, the old driver issues were not the same as the QTV issue. Maybe I am just reading the wrong info... guessI should just reconcile myself to be happy with what I have...kinda like the comments here..moderatot please close this thread

Re: HTC lack of support for QTV video driver VGA
HTC created a product that can run h.264, using software that you personally don't prefer. There is even a plugin that addresses your biggest issue (the resuming of media). I think a major problem in our society is that it "gets to us so much" when something doesn't exactly meet our specifications, and so we "demand change". I prefer Maya Angelou's approach: "If you don't like something change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude. Don't complain."

Re: HTC lack of support for QTV video driver VGA
Oh, btw, its not HTC "lack of a good video driver" , the driver is quite impressive. Maybe I should be asking for an open source guru to duplicate one like it for TCPMP. And thanks to PolloLOco for the tip on WMP , that will help make things a bit more easy

Re: HTC lack of support for QTV video driver VGA
yea, it sucks. video drivers would be awesome. It's more like buying a corvette with a governor at 85 mph, when the salesperson didn't tell you it was there.... I think sales would be through the roof for 'em if they went all out and crushed the iphone, but hey, then they would see less purchases of future models. I'm just about at the point as exil3d, this may likely be my last HTC device till they get their act together.
edit: hmm, interesting.

Re: HTC lack of support for QTV video driver VGA
okay.the video driver is already there , the problem isnt the driver but the proprietary nature they signed off on. This could be easily fixed ... last post but please read this . I guess you peeps telling me to be happy with what I got , should write in to the people who do Core Player and tell them they are fighting a losing battle.. Thank goodness, everyone does not have that attitude or CorePlayer would have not even tried to reverse engineer the qtv . http://forum.corecodec.com/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=1521
