I've had to replace mine either 3 or 4 times now, all new units. (Luckily each time my pro messed up, the warehouse was still sending new handsets.) One was because the keyboard quit working. I took it apart, then reseated all the connectors for the ribbons, and it worked maybe once or twice, but then it would quit out again. I also know that two or three of my coworkers have had the same issue (our whole service center has Touch Pros, except for one tech with a Treo 800).

well heres pro numero dos (#2) that has had this ribbon problem.. i just noticed my screen starting to go jumbled, great. had the first one 2 weeks.. this one, not yet 3 wks. this time though my screen is fading dim. dont remember the first one doing that. o well sprint store here i come

My TP when I turn of the screen would sometimes never come back on, or the LCD would come on and the screen would be either green or some distorted color. The only fix I had for it was to soft reset, but I was wondering if that was anything to worry about down the line. I'll take a picture of it next time it happens.

If I'm returning this one, I'll be in for my third Touch Pro.

Before returning this one, I would really try a hard reset or a new rom first. If it fix's with a soft reset and only happens after going to sleep it seems software related.

Hello Guys.
I currently have an HTC touch pro.. it´s almost brand new, not really a lot of use but i need a lil help. Like 4 months ago the phone screen start to fail, every time i turn it on the light from the screen would be on for just a milisecond then start to fail, the backlight would start to become internmittent like turning on adn off (but without too much intensity). Every time i turn off the screen for power saving and i turn it on the light would be full internsity for just a milisecond and start to get darker, sometimes the light would stay ok until i turn on the camara. Im pretty much sure it´s the flex ribbon for the screen ( i already bought one to change it but im not sure how to open this phone) and im starting to have second thoughts, maybe it can be the screen??. My phone is off warranty, i already contacted HTC and they told me to do a hard reset which i already did. but still the phone is having the same problems. Anyone knows how to fix it?? do i need to change the screen or just the flex ribbon. Thanks
