I have also had the GPS reboot problem. This is the first stability issue I've had with a Windows Mobile device that repeated reliably after rebooting (rather than just occur at random, and usually be "safe" for awhile after rebooting).

It's one of the issues recently, combined with the near-complete lack of activity from Microsoft in Windows Mobile development (sorry, WM6.5 looks to have very little of significance) that is pushing me toward giving up on Windows Mobile altogether. My WM device frequently crashes more in a day than my iPod Touch has for the five months I have owned it. Sorry to be a pessimist, but issues like this are beyond unacceptable.

Using the stock ROM from purchase.

The same thing happened to me when I tried to use GPS tracking in Live Search last Wednesday evening. The phone would just acquire my position on the map and then soft reset. It happened about 4 or 5 times so I engaged the quick gps update and that fixed it. It hasn't occurred since.

I'd say it's more a hardware problem than it is Windows Mobile.... I got my phone replaced after experiencing this problem and haven't had it happen since.

same problems here, just manually download the quick gps info, and you should be fine

interesting, my dauhgter was messing with my TP and had to do a Restore. This issue of GPS rebooting the TP started happening and drove me nuts. I did two more HR, and updated QuickGps and all has been good for couple days...I didnt investigate , my guess is software conflict. For now, I hope and am positive this isht wont happen again.

I had this happen last week, and even going back to stock rom and radio didn't help *at the time*.

Sprint Store was a royal PITA about it, and just removed the GeoTerrestrial App. I was then able to reproduce the problem with SprintNav and the QuickGPS program. They finally relented and ordered me a replacement (refurb

).

While waiting for the refurb to show up ( from Sunday last to Wednesday last), the conflict or whatever fixed itself on the stock radio, and I was able to use QuickGPS and
GeoTerrestrial again.

I still took the refurb and sent the other one back.

So, I'm not sure what the hades was going on there, but you are definitely *not* alone.

my guess is there was bad quick gps data being loaded to the phone.. that would explain why the problem crops up sometimes for some ppl. I was just having the problem the last week or 2. I assumed, it was from running nueclock tests, however they have since cleared up. another interesting thing is I cannot find quickgps on my phone, but i get locks fairly quick and it tracks just fine.
(anybody got a current version of htc quickgps.. all the ones I've found don't pass security. (yes I have sdkcert and rapi)
