Touch Pro resets while trying to use GPS(ISSUES)
 

Hello all! Here is the issue i'm having. When i open TomTom and it starts to use GPS my phone reboots. This has never happened before. I then tried using google maps and the same thing happened when it tries to access the GPS. Is anyone else having this issue? or is my phone defective?

Same EXACT problem, couple others with similar problems as well. What concerns me is that none of the senior members of this forum have posted anything. I don't know if there just not as active on these forums as they were when TP was new or what (most likely). Just very concerned that it is a hardware issue, not a software. Others have mentioend that reflashing fixed theirs, I am waiting some more feedback before I do anything. Have you flahsed your device to a new ROM or is it stock?

Well i feel better that i'm not the only one with this issue. But it does suck we even have this problem. I'm using the stock rom and I just tested google maps and it works suddenly. yesterday i tried both tomtom and google maps and my phone just kept rebooting; it rebooted at least 10 times lol. This is very weird and i also hope its not a hardware problem. I'll keep checking out these 2 threads.

ok so i just tested tomtom7 and it works also...very weird that it works when i dont need it :(

Had the same problem. Ultimately had to return the device for a swap.

Symptoms:
1. Accessing the GPS will work for approx 5-10 seconds followed by a reset or lock-up.
2. GPS will never lock on to any satellites.

Solution:
1. Depending on the radio, downgrading to 1.03.15 should solve it.
2. If already on 1.03.15 then return unit for replacement.

Funny, I just had that happen to me today for the first time....

I just read on the vzn gps hack/fix thread that if the info in Quick GPS in not up to date that GPS Tool will lock up.

I havent meesed with it yet but I couldn't get Quick GPS to DL this morning so that may be right

I had this problem as soon as i switched to the Telus radio on my sprint TP. Flashing to a sprint radio fixed it.

Had same exact problem but only with goog maps. as soon as i got a fix the phone would reset. then it got much worse... screen would go black whenever it felt like then power button stopped responding. did about 6 hard resets in 1 day and problem never went away. called sprint and got replacement. everything is cool now

I have replaced 2 TP's already because of this issue. I started having this issue with #3 a couple of days ago I had Geo tracker installed on all three devices so I uninstalled it and the GPS started working again. I haven't reinstalled dose anyone else have this program installed? This is a very serious issue I need GPS to work all the time if this happens again I will immediately take the Phone back to the Sprint store for replacement every time. There is an issue here and Sprint needs to make it right the only way they will realize there is an issue is if we make them aware by returning these defective TP's. IMO there is no way this is a software issue it survives a hard reset.
