My mount is perfect. since I made it myself. And it is perfectly adjustable to any size. When making it just fit it to size then add the JB weld to lock in the size. Only cost me like $12. Link in sig.

The one in the verizon store is nearly identical. I paid $16 for it.

I went with this and it rocks! Juts went to home depot and got some 26 gauge sheet metal, cut it with metal shears and hammered it flat on an anvil-like object. put it in the back between the battery and door and stuck 2 magnets on the dashboard. Overall cost was $2.79 for the magnets and $6 for the relatively giant 1'x2' sheet of metal.

it is quite sweet, been a few days and no negative effects from the magnet

plus the AC keeps it really cool! so it charges with no issues!

Very happy with my mount from ebay. Made perfectly for the Touch Pro. Snug fit, can rotate it any way you want.

I bought the ProClip base as the Touch Pro was too heavy for my vents. It's the thing hovering over the AC Vent.

Then I bought the Universal Swivel Clip contraption from Sprint. It comes with a sticker holster that I stuck right in the middle of the pro clip thing. It's not bulky like the rest of them and I can still rotate it and plug whatever I want into it. Hell, the touch pro practically covers the pro clip up. I also use the belt clip so when I hop into the car I just unclip it from my belt then drop it into the car's holster. Very snazzy...

Overheating is never an issue considering I've got the AC blowing right on the back of the thing. The only draw back I've seen is it's awkward to plug the phone in while it's landscape. It weights it down just a little on the right.

Good idea, but I would be way nervous about the magnet...

You could probably do something like that quite easily with the Proclip. They are sold in two pieces anyway. The cradle that holds the phone screws into the bracket that attaches to your particular car. You could probably cut up a bracket to fit into your storage area.
