Re: $3.65 + Registry Hack = TV Out

Everything works PERFECT for me! Aside from the manila home screen displays sideways on my TV but that's no big deal. Sprint TV works too, but, what's the point in that? Aside from that, it's nice but as Chowder stated, the noveltly wore off quickly for me as well. Oh well! $3 for a cable will sure come in handy sometime!

Re: $3.65 + Registry Hack = TV Out

I have the same problem as someone from above. I am trying to use the RCA adapter that came with my digital camera, but all I get is a static picture on the screen.

I figured out that the white cable carries the video, but it displays all wrong and messed up. My settings are set correctly for my region.

Perhaps this cable won't work....?

go to best buy, grab an ipod video cable (3.5 mm to 3 rca plugs) and test it. Afterward you can return it and get the cheaper one from online

Question Does the iPod cable fit perfectly and go in all the way?

Does the iPod cable fit perfectly and go in all the way?

I already ordered the iPod cable from Amazon but it will be a week before I get it.

I have a non-iPod video cable 3.5mm to RCA yellow, red, white but like some others in this thread the video is all jumbled up like in the old days when you tried to watch HBO but you didn't pay for it.

But the cable doesn't really fit. It is too long and wont go in all the way.

So my question, does the iPod cable fit perfectly and go in all the way?

I tried pushing and pulling the cable I have in and out in the slightest intervals to see if I could get better results but that didn't work. And I did this using the yellow, red, and white ends and on both rca video inputs on my tv. Scrambled video came through at times on the white and at times on red, never on the yellow.

I know the cable and the TV are fine because I tried it with my camcorder and it works perfectly in that scenario.

I also tried my friends Touch Pro Adapter, same exact results.

datawrhsdoc,

When you plug your iPod cable into the HTC adapter, does the iPod cable go in all the way and fit nicely?

Re: $3.65 + Registry Hack = TV Out

Looks like we snatched another one from 'em. I actually used the a/v cable from my Zune and was playing music video requests at a friends mother's birthday party. I got lots of "Your phone can do that?". Yes it can. Thanks and good work (almost bought Htc's cable).

Got my cable today! So I can answer my own question. The camcorder cable I had before was different. The part that goes into the headphone jack was longer and would not go in all the way which is why it didn't work. This piece on the iPod cable is exactly the same size as a one on a regular headphone set, it just has an extra line across it for the extra pin.
