Crazychef, here are 2 links that say otherwise.. The first, is HTC's specs page, which blatantly mentions it. The second is sprint's news release, which mentions video call capacity.

Kevinbob, in one of HTC's earlier designs where they pointed out the features, it was where the regular earpiece would be, that part of the casing housed the non-speakerphone audio, as well as the camera. If you look at it now, there's a bubble there that's not typical speaker mesh-like appearance.
I'm not saying you guys are wrong, and the camera is there because let's face it, there's no discussion about it anywhere and that's probably for a reason. But those images and facts from HTC and sprint both make me hopeful and questioning.
