theres no real differences. SE has eyecandy features.. new custom startup screen, custom icon sets, default custom theme, custom taskbar.. so its pretty much the Official ROM + eyecandy
When you close the messaging app it never closes i have it set as an excluded application so it never shows in the task manager and always runs in the background.
