Updated (10 Mar) VGA Action Screen and Settings App V1

Thanks to Fabliv for the great application over at XDA, I just cleaned it up and added a few colors.

Thanks to gadgetfreak, Misfortune, popdog54, darren.wlsn1 and Fat Boy for helping and the inspiration to develop the action screens.

The action screen provides quick access to applications.

The left soft key will be mapped to "Action" and I have put a shortcut in the programs folder.


5 March 2005 Action Screen Settings application version 1

I know I said I was going to take some time off but I could not pull myself away from completing the Action Screen Settings application. Version 1 is released and if you have settings that need to be added please post them here. I rewrote the application so that it is very easy for me to add additional settings.

The GPS is not mapped to an application and I would have to have way too many CABs to satisfy everyone. So to map the GPS button to your GPS application make the following registry edit:

HKLM > Software > HTC > Biotouch > ActionScreen > APP_9 > Path (set this to your GPS exe)

The email button is mapped to the Exchange mail box. If you would like to change it to a different mail account make the following registry edit:

HKLM > Software > HTC > Biotouch > ActionScreen > APP_3 > Param
It is set to -service "ActiveSync" -to ""

Change the “ActiveSyne” to your mail account (POP, IMAP, Hotmail…).

There seems to be some interest in the application files, so here they are:

ASSettings.exe - %Windows%
HTCActionScreen.exe - %Windows%
HTCActionScreen.lnk - %InstallDir%
MMSLauncher.exe (if you want to use it) - %InstallDir%
OpenNETCF.Windows.Forms.SmartphoneDialogs.dll - %InstallDir%
ToggleBTh.exe - %InstallDir%
Wifi_ON_OFF.exe - %InstallDir%


All images (.brn) go into the %InstallDir%

The background file is named "AS_Bkgd_1.brn" and is 480 X 640

The press and focus images are 120 X 120

I have included the image files for the gray on color.

All files are in the ActionScreen.zip below.

You might want to add a link to XDA or post the files for this app. Once people start seeing these screen shots there are going to be requests for the application.

Not a problem. I assume there is a shortcut in the /windows/startup/programs folder. let me know what the files name is and I will make the cab file.
