that's just for the people that don't get their right text limit in a custom rom. don't seeing it have any affect on the lag(unless someone complained about not getting 160 character limit, didn't read the whole thread. ![]() but it's just a simple reg edit, don't see why it would affect anything with the lag.

Re: SMS/Text Messages Type SLOW
I just recently tried this registry hack:
disable keyboard popup===does not for for alltel htc touch pro HKLM\Software\Tegic\eT9\IME change "DefaultInputMode" from 1 to 0. from this thread: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/newreply.p...ote=1&p=995864 I noticed less lag. I text alot and I am pretty fast on the kb and it does a "better" job of keeping up with me when I'm typing. Give it a shot and see if you can tell a difference. Maybe it's just me, but I've had better results since I implemented this tweak. On a side note, this keeps the on screen keyboard from ever popping up, in opera, sms, email, etc but is there if you ever need it, unlike the nullkb which sets the input to a blank entry. Very inconvenient if you use the SIP keyboard every now and again. Drove me crazy when I clicked in the address bar while in landscape mode and the stupid kb popped up. 1) Whenever you go to a website and click in the text box to log in to a website or something in opera, the stupid SIP keyboard STILL pops up, argh...But it does block it when clicking on the address bar... 2) I did a quick test in SMS, opened up a threaded conversation and typed 2 letters as fast as I could, still noticeable lag. But then when I tried typing a regular message as fast as I could, there was minimal lag. So when I typed, "Hey, what are you doing tonight, I think I'm just gonna hang out at the house" by the time I finished typing it, it was right there with me. |

Re: SMS/Text Messages Type SLOW
Yeah, I'm still seeing a decent amount of lag even with the reg edit... But if it stops the keyboard from popping up all the time, that's cool

Re: SMS/Text Messages Type SLOW
The only way I found to have absolutely zero keyboard lag is to not use the WM Messaging program. Get a copy of Vito SMS or PocketCM, heck even the HTC Messenger extension in TF3D2 has no lag while typing

Ok so I'm willing to try out one of the 3 that you suggested. My only question that I have is if I already have arcsoft installed (so i can do mms messages) then will any of these mess up my arcsoft install? |
