Htc Touch Pro

I have an Outlook and AOL email account set up on my Sprint HTC TOUCH PRO. When I'm downloading the full message from an email on my AOL account (with additional pics and full message), I get kicked out and sent back to the Home Screen. It's a nuisance and I can't figure out why. Any thoughts?

Re: Htc Touch Pro

I just got off the phone with HTC support and it was the first they had heard of this problem. The guy I spoke to was really cool and chatted with him briefly about PPCGeeks and XDA forums where issues are posted.

He said that many people forget to call HTC to tell them about the issue and by not doing so, they can't fix the problem. Once they get enough complaints and escalations about a certain issue, they will issue an update. (PS a ROM update is coming out for the SPRINT HTC TOUCH PRO, but no guarantee it will help this problem).

That being said, I implore you to call HTC! 1-866-449-8358

Re: Htc Touch Pro

Interesting the it kicks you out. Have you tried setting it to not download pics or attachments? I may just be a problem with the attachments.

Re: Htc Touch Pro

Unfortunately it's not the attachments but seems to happen when i click "get the rest of this message" or "download internet pictures". It's as if the system gets overwhelmed, then decides to kick me back to the home screen.

Try changing the settings for the account to download the full html message with no images, and set the attachment downloads to not download at all. Also, try to change the amount of days back it draws mail from the server. Perhaps you are trying to download too much at once on your phone causing it to crash.

What ROM are you running?

Re: Htc Touch Pro

I'll give it a try and see what happens. I'm running stock ROM with tweaks.

Re: Htc Touch Pro

I have an Alltel Touch Pro and have a slightly different problem. When I get html e-mail I get a link that says: "Internet pictures blocked". When I click that link, I get another that says: Download internet pictures". When I do, it just reverts back to the "Internet pictures blocked" version of the page. The thing is, it used to work perfectly with the same settings I have now. I've searched the threads and it seems most people are just interested in making the internet pictures in HTML mail download automatically. I'm not intersted in that. I want to decide when to download. I have the mail settings set to download all text but no pictures and no to download attachments. This way, I select and download the attachments when I want to. Problem is -- it no longer works.
I've installed a number of things recently but don't think any of them could affect this. I'm running MightyROM 4.14 (have been since it first came out) and the issue started only recently so I'm certain it is not anything in the ROM. The only thing I've done that might have had an effect is changing the registry settings to make Opera my default web browser.
I'm going to try changing it back and see if that fixes anything. I'll post my results as soon as I've done the test.

Regards,
Vlip3

Edit: Reverting to PIE did not fix the problem. If no one can help, I'm going to try hard reset but I dread doing that because it has taken me many hours to get the phone just how I like it!

Re: Htc Touch Pro

Mine occasionally kicks me out when I am sending/receiving for new messages. I thought I was the only one...

edit: I just noticed that this was my 100th post! Yay!
