Sufficient Privileges does not mean you have to hard reset. Install DotFred Task Manager if it is not already installed and then kill manila.exe. Then install the cab file. Problem is Manila.exe is running already and so it cannot be overwritten.

If this doesn't work then kill Quick Menu, then go to Start/Settings/Today and Disable TouchFlo 3D. If you still can't access the Settings menu after killing Quick Menu then you may have to hard reset but save that for the last resort.

Don't ever let anyone tell you a hard-reset is the only way when you haven't yet exhausted every other option first.

Re: start settings-does nothing

Maybe I misunderstood the problem... I though you couldn't get into Settings at all, whether thru the settings tab of TF3D or from the Start menu? I agree that the insufficient privileges may just have been due to TF3D running. My suggestion for the hard reset was due to the critically low memory and being unable to get into the Remove Programs applet.

Okay did you install Quick Menu via Cab file or was it cooked into the ROM?

If it was installed via cab file, exit Quick Menu(go back to the standard Start Menu) and then using File Explorer or equivalent, browse to the cab file and try to re-install it. It will tell you the previous installation needs to be removed first. Allow the installer to remove it. Now... It want's to re-install it. CANCEL the re-installation. Use your stylus to soft-reset to make sure Quick Menu is gone for good.

Now Quick Menu should be gone.

Now try all of the options I describe below.

First, download all of my attachments. Extract the ZIP and copy the '.exe' somewhere on your device and run it. It should launch the settings menu. It's from the days of the TouchFlo Cube. (If you are more comfortable with cab files, install the cab and go to Start/Programs and run "Settings".)

If none of those options work, install the DH Disable TouchFlo 3D cab file and then soft-reset. When your device reboots TouchFlo 3D will be disabled. Then install the cab from Dan-HTC-Touch.

Hope some of this helps.

Okay well that's not what I thought it was lol. Try installing my DH Disable TouchFlo 3D cab and then the one that dan-htc-touch posted earlier. That should fix the problem with not being able to access settings.

If it doesn't then you may have to hard reset, as much as I hate to say it.
