Also, when painting .. the more coats of paint the thicker it is thus the greater the chance of cracking. And too littlr will leave less gloss and less room for wet sanding for a mirror finish.Idealy, 3 to 5 coats are good.

My friend did something similar to his MacBook. It still eventually yellows. I just did the black dye thing from the other tread and put a bestskinever on it. The black will hide any yellowing.

I did a little wet sanding with 2000 grit paper. then a littlerubbing compound with alot of elbow grease. the Polished. Now it has a mirror image. Not cracks or flakes yet. LOL!

Good information. I have to tell you though, I dyed mine over a month ago and it still looks GREAT. Absolutely none of the dye has worn off and the black looks as if it came strait from the factory.
