Re: QuickGPS problem
Check to make sure Location is on first
I know I get that error because the location off shuts off the DLL usage for apps.... |

Re: QuickGPS problem
Scrosler is right. I found out that QuickGPS never seemed to download anything for me until I turned the location setting on. I find that everytime I soft reset my phone I need to go back into the settings to "re-turn on" the location setting.

Location settings is turned off by default.
Go to Start -> settings-> click "Phone" icon, edit "location settings" to ON then run QuickGPS. It should update without any problems. My GPS locks on in mere seconds. ![]()

Re: QuickGPS problem
what rom are you using? my gps used to work great and then i was sent a replacement and it hasnt worked since, but i also flashed it right out of the box so i am unsure if its the phone or the rom i built. yeah i know i could just flash back to stock rom and check but that is precious time i could be flashing other stuff.

Re: QuickGPS problem
I got my TP 45 days ago. Out of the box new Google Maps would lock within 3-4 seconds perfect every time. After putting tons of apps, etc. on it I decided to hard reset to clean it up. Ever since then I have not been able to get the GPS to work with Google Maps and downloaded Quick GPS and have never got it to synch. I went to an Alltel store. They said all they could do is turn on Alltel Navigation to test the GPS. They did and the GPS function worked perfect. Even going into Google Maps after running the Alltel Nav. Then GM GPS would work. If I soft reset and did not run Alltel Nav. First GM would not work with GPS. It seems like the Alltel Nav. Somehow initializes the GPS. I did another hard reset and now am stuck cause I don’t have Alltel Nav. And don’t want to install it again as I already will likely have a fight over billing from them having to subscribe and then she said she took it off the account but I bet it will be there. Also, I confirmed “Location setting” was on during all this. After all of my reset I have never seem it off and had to turn it on. Any ideas for us Alltel “No GPS” users?
