Re: Possible GPS Fix from HTC Soon
i already tried the tweaks noted. didn't really help. I even tried the GPS gate program which some other recommended. seems to help slight but still unacceptable.
it lags a lot less on google earth for me. but i suspect this is because of the concurrent use of datalink from google helping to scroll the maps and possibly also helping the gps. i use oncourse (igo 2006) and beeelinegps and i would many satellites locked. problem for me is that there is frequent intermitten lock loss (like every 8-10sec the lock would cut out for half sec or so). each time this happens, there is a bad lag and the igo map doesn't scroll. this also happens with beelinegps. don't know if anyone also have similar problem. mine is an 11/08 built phone. |

Re: Possible GPS Fix from HTC Soon
I don't have high hope they are going to fix it...
Why? Let's see, HTC says it's Sprint's problem, Sprint says it's HTC's fault. Class-action lawsuit doesn't even make them sweat, let along motivate them to do anything. Update on my Friend's Fuze. Under same program (iGo , he has about a sec delay where my Sprint TP has at LEAST 2 seconds delay. |

it's really not that hard to fix it yourself.... i dont leave it to HTC, or sprint or anyone else to correct what i can tweak with the help of this site!

Re: Possible GPS Fix from HTC Soon
Quote:
Take the Blackberry / SprintNextel fiasco from 4yrs ago. The front of the 7100i's early box said something like "WAV & MP3 Ringtones." For the next year and a half, Nextel said that RIM failed to provide the hardware for WAV ringtones, and RIM said that Nextel's ROM didn't incorporate the ability. "Call and complain to the other guy." People complained, sent letters, threatened with suits and returns... for nothing. Nextel basically told many of us to screw off because the BB is a business device and not an entertainment device like the Razr (which was mega-cool at the time) + ignore the box advertisement that had since been "fixed." Eventually some broke-*** fix was released but the newer and better devices were already out by then and many didn't care, myself included. MIDI4lyfe. My suggestion: don't waste SO much time complaining as to forget enjoying the TP for what it is. It's a problematic device, but so was damn near every smartphone I've owned since 2002 lol still looking for a perfect solution. |

Re: Possible GPS Fix from HTC Soon
it just pissed me off so much that gps works so much better on mogul and doesn't work anywhere close to as well on TP. The main reason i upgrade was because mogul only have 64 mb ram. Thinking about it, if only the mogul has 128 or 192 mb ram, i might not have rushed to upgrade.
TP is definitely a more stylish phone than mogul and got better spec on paper, but for ne substance always trump style.... Yes, mogul didn't even have a gps working til sprint rel rom with it enabled in march 08. We are fast approaching that timeline for TP..... |
