Re: Anyone know why the touch pro does not charge when tethering?
Its because the battery is too warm for it to safely charge. The solution? It sounds stupid, but it worked for me. Take a cold drink can from the fridge, slide the keyboard out, and place the can on the keyboard. When it warms up after a few hours, put that old can back in the fridge, and grab another. Repeat process.

Re: Anyone know why the touch pro does not charge when tethering?
Yeah, but isn't there a way that upon plugging the phone into an external source this battery isn't affected at all? I think it would have been smart to allow the phone to completely work free of battery charge. The way it sound is that even when the phone is charging from an external source, the phone is still using the battery's charge to power itself. That seems silly.

I'm just saying, and haven't seen any evidence to the contrary, that the way this phone works in general is pretty flawed. The fact, even when drawing power from external source like AC or USB, the battery STILL gets hot. It just doesn't make sense! |

Re: Anyone know why the touch pro does not charge when tethering?
HOW DO YOU KNOW IT'S NOT CHARGING?
When I use wifiRouter. It discharges @ around 700-800 mA and charges @ 400-450 mah. It does charge but it discharges faster than charging. When using usb to tether. It disharges @ about 437 mA and charges @ 430 mA. So because discharge is GREATER than the charge there isn't a net gain in battery. |

Re: Anyone know why the touch pro does not charge when tethering?
So it sounds like we need to prevent the current battery from getting so hot or design a battery with lower heat generation..
