Theoretically, this tethering/heat issue shouldn't exist if you're plugged into a power source like USB or AC. As I see it, in reality, it's completely an HTC device issue of possibly poor circuitry design and/or bad form factor design. Battery *should not* be affected if power is being drawn from external source! (bad, sadly, it is)
(or is this something that my widdle piddy mind doesn't understand?)
