if you used ppckitchen to cook your rom, and did not include startup animation oem, nothing will display, just a note for some

Which .gif are you using? I changed my welcomehead as well. I have no issues now. I am using the htc crushing apple gif that was posted here. Outside of what I have already described here I really dont know what to say.

In the registry you can point it to where you have it.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\HTCAnimation]
"GifSpeed"=dword:00000040
"ShutDownWav"=""
"ShutDownGif"="\\Windows\\animated_HTC.gif"
"ShutDownAsStartup"=dword:00000000
"StartupWav"=""
"StartupGif"="\\Windows\\Startup_640x480.gif"

Change "StartupWav"="" to the path of the file you wanna use. Save your changes and reboot your device.
